Working in a talented group of developers, designers and entrepreneurs at the Start-Up Weekend Wellington, we worked on an idea to help humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. After 54 hours, we pitched our idea to a judging panel and came first.
Our idea is an empathetic chatbot that engages with civilians in the event of a disaster to gather information. This provides decision makers with a dashboard enabling them to make choices quicker and save more lives.
I worked on user experience, visual design, journey mapping, and testing the chatbot to create friendly and compassionate responses in the event of a disaster. We are currently still developing Ema and working towards making Ema available to the New Zealand public. You can find out more on our Facebook page SituateMe.
